What can I say about family photos? For one, they're important. They're the story of your life.
Secondly, they're unpredictable and imperfect by nature. Kids are gonna do what kids are gonna do. Whether that's run around and play or throw a total fit. Yet in my experience, the beauty I have found lies in the imperfection. So, why not lean into it? Let's set free the pressure of having everyone smiling at the camera at the same time because it so rarely happens. Let's go have an experience that will fill your cup.
Our children are not perfectly manicured little banzai trees. No, in fact they are they are wildflowers growing untamed and free which suits me just fine. I approach each session more as a participant as I gain trust and cultivate authentic moments from behind the camera. Of course, it won't be a total free for all, as I'll guide you through some subtle poses and fun ideas, but in the end it will be the photos from the in between moments that you will cherish the most.
